SPOON
A Southern Soup Kitchen

7447 N. MacArthur Blvd. Suite #140
Irving TX, 75063

My
lease has expired at my current location. Closing
the restaurant has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to face
in my 28-year-old-life. Seven
months ago my wife and I divorced. I have continued running the restaurant solo (albeit, with
two great employees). I never
imagined when we started I would have the tremendous burden of operating the
restaurant by myself. It would be
hard for me to put in words the joy I have experienced making so many people
happy for at least 20 minutes out of their day.
However, the hours and the stress have somewhat taken a toll. Often on weekdays, I only have time to sit in the car to and
from work. On the weekends, much of
my time is consumed with bookkeeping and other restaurant financial matters.
I need a breath.
I am proud to say despite all of its obstacles, (only ten seats, limited parking, only open for lunch five days a week) SPOON was able to operate at a profit. However, I realize it would be foolish for me to sign another lease when the restaurant is not living up to its potential. I would like to find another restaurant with more seating. I know it would be successful with a little tweaking of the concept. Unfortunately, I am lacking the capital needed for such an endeavor. If anyone would be interested in investing, my contact information is below.
However,
the people who know me best realize I can never stand still for long.
I’m already getting bored. I
guess it’s time for me to shine my shoes and slick my hair back to earn a
couple of bucks. I can now pursue my real passion…interpretive dance (haha).
I’m not quite sure what career path I would like to follow.
There’s a thick layer of dust on my resume and I’ve been using my
Texas Tech diploma as a drink coaster but I shaved and pressed my suit
yesterday. If anyone can find use for me, give me a shout!
(Great for company picnics and I’ve been told I can make a mean
Manwich.)
Thank
you for your patronage! Love,
peace, and chicken grease.
